Introduction:

The Women’s Sexual Harassment Committee at Sikkim Skill University (SSU) is committed to upholding a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all members of the university community. The Committee plays a critical role in preventing and addressing incidents of sexual harassment by implementing comprehensive policies, fostering awareness, and ensuring access to appropriate support mechanisms for those affected.

Objectives of the Women’s Sexual Harassment Committee

1.   Prevent Sexual Harassment Through Awareness and Education: 

   To proactively implement preventive strategies by conducting sensitization programs, awareness campaigns, and training sessions that educate the university community about sexual harassment, gender sensitivity, and respectful behavior.

2.   Provide Support and Protection to Complainants:

    To create a confidential, non-judgmental, and secure platform for individuals to report incidents of sexual harassment and receive the necessary emotional, legal, and procedural support.

3.   Ensure Fair and Timely Redressal: 

   To conduct impartial, thorough, and prompt investigations into complaints of sexual harassment, ensuring due process and adherence to the principles of natural justice.

4.   IPromote Accountability and Zero Tolerance:  

   To uphold a zero-tolerance policy towards sexual harassment by holding offenders accountable through appropriate disciplinary actions in accordance with university policies and statutory guidelines.

Through these initiatives, the Committee aims to reinforce SSU’s commitment to gender equity, dignity, and the right of every individual to work and study in a safe and empowering environment.
